Edwards & Patterson Law Veterans' Grant Essay Contest
Do you know a veteran whose service, sacrifice and patriotism have inspired you? If so, Edwards & Patterson Law invites you to nominate the veteran for an award in our 2019 Veterans’ Grant Essay Contest. It is our law firm’s way of expressing our appreciation to those who have fought to protect our country and the liberties that we enjoy every day.
To nominate a veteran, we ask you to submit an essay by our July 1, 2019 deadline.
We will then choose two deserving veterans and award a combined total of $1,500 in cash grants:
First Place: $1,000
Second Place: $500
Who is Eligible for a Grant?
Anyone can submit an essay which nominates a veteran for a cash grant. The nominee must be a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard.) Veterans may even nominate themselves.
How do you Nominate a Veteran for a Grant?
To nominate a veteran, you must email firstname.lastname@example.org these things:
- An essay of at least 600 words about the veteran
- A photo of the veteran
- Your phone and e-mail contact information
In the essay, you must explain why the veteran deserves a cash grant. The essay should describe the veteran’s service, including the veteran’s branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, dates of service and highlights of his or her military career. The essay should also describe how the writer knows the veteran. For instance, is the veteran a relative, friend, neighbor or co-worker? You can nominate only one veteran per essay.
