Andrea Castillo Memorial Scholarship

The Andrea Castillo Scholarship Endowment offers FIU students the opportunity to secure a $1,000 scholarship to support their endeavors in becoming teachers. The Castillo family established this scholarship in memory of Andrea Castillo, a talented and exceptional student who dreamed of being a teacher. The scholarship is awarded to one or more students per year who share aspects of Andrea’s love for teaching.

Students interested in applying must:
i. The scholarship will be awarded to students enrolled in or accepted for
admission to the University who are enrolled in an Education major or track
such as FIU Teach.
ii. Preference will be given to Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS)
graduates.
iii. Preference to students committed to working in MDCPS upon graduation.
iv. Must be enrolled full-time (12 credits minimum) for both Fall 2024 & Spring 2025
v. 3.0 GPA or above

Students must be U.S Citizens, Permanent Resident, or International student on F1 visa to be aid eligible
