Florida 10 for 10 Scholarship

The Florida 10 for 10 Scholarship Initiative will award ten (10) $1,000 scholarships to eligible FIU undergraduate students. Awards will be applied to Spring 2027 financial aid.

*Student Eligibility: *

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be currently enrolled as a full-time (12+credits) degree seeking undergraduate student at FIU at the time of disbursement (Spring 2027)
  • To receive scholarship aid at FIU students must be a citizen of the United States, a U.S. lawful permanent resident, an international student with an F-1 visa, or an eligible non-citizen*.
  • 2.0 Minimum GPA
  • Students receiving need-based aid may not receive total funding—including federal, state, FIU scholarships or stipends, and external scholarships—that exceeds their Cost of Attendance. If total aid goes beyond this limit, FIU will adjust the student’s financial aid package to remain in compliance and protect the student’s eligibility.

Entry Requirements
Each entry must include the student’s first and last name, major, and anticipated graduation date.
Students must submit either a written essay of 500 words or fewer or a video essay of no more than two minutes. Video submissions must be in MP4, MOV, or MPG format and may not exceed 1 GB.
The submission must explain why you chose to pursue higher education in Florida and why you selected FIU.
All submissions must be in English and must be the student’s own original work. Submissions must be created solely by the student, without the use of artificial intelligence (AI), and must belong exclusively to the student.
Entries are evaluated based on merit. Criteria may include:
a. Content quality and clarity
b. Originality and authenticity
c. Alignment with prompt
d. Strength of storytelling and impact
