UK Scholarships Internal Application
Several prestigious scholarships provide full funding for graduate study in the United Kingdom including: the Rhodes Scholarship, the Marshall Scholarship, and the Gates Cambridge Scholarship. These programs are looking for students with exemplary academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, and long-term goals to make a positive impact on society. Rhodes and Marshall Scholarships require institutional nomination; you cannot apply to them directly. The deadline to apply internally is July 1. You will submit one application in order to be considered for any scholarships for which you may be eligible.
Eligibility:
- 3.7 GPA or above
- U.S Citizen
- Current juniors, seniors, or recent alumni
(Certain International students can apply for The Rhodes Scholarship. For more information, visit: https://www.rhodeshouse.ox.ac.uk/scholarships/which-scholarship/. International students may apply for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship).
To be considered, please submit the following:
- The listed short essay questions (no more than 250 words each)
- A CV or resume
- One letter of recommendation from an FIU faculty or staff member
Students that move forward after this step will go through an interview stage to determine if they will be endorsed to compete at the National Level. For questions, email prestigious@fiu.edu.

- 5. Why are you applying for scholarship funding to the UK? Why is the UK, or a specific university in the UK, such a good fit for your graduate study?
