School of Education Scholarships
This application will be used to award multiple scholarships for Fall 2026 & Spring 2027 offered by the School of Education.
Minimum eligibility requirements for ALL School of Education Scholarships (additional documents or essays may be required if you are a finalist):
- Must be enrolled as a full-time, degree-seeking student (12 credits undergraduate / 9 credits graduate) in an Education program
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Please upload an updated personal statement and resume
Students must be US Citizens, Permanent Residents, or International Students on an F1 Visa for aid eligibility.

- Please submit a typed personal statement (double spaced, two-page maximum) that describes your educational goals and how being a recipient of this scholarship will help you fulfill them.
- Please upload an updated resume.
- Please request a letter of recommendation. Letter MUST be from a teacher, professor, academic counselor or advisor who can attest to student’s academic potential, leadership qualities, and/or community service.
- Are you enrolled in courses in the College of Education for the purpose of obtaining certifications in any specialty in Special Education?
- Are you a teacher in MDCPS or BCS?
- Are you currently enrolled in a secondary education program (preparing to teach 6th–12th graders)?
- Have taken at least one Social Studies Education course (course with an SSE prefix)?
- Answer the following essay question in a one-page, double-spaced response:
- How do technology and education influence the future of society, and why are they important for growth and success?
- “How can urban development projects be designed to better support people with special needs and create more inclusive communities?”
