Chaplin School Bruce Blum ’82 Scholarship

The Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management is proud to announce a new alumni-funded scholarship supporting the next generation of hospitality leaders. This scholarship was created by Bruce Blum ’82, a Chaplin School alumnus and hospitality real estate executive who believes in investing in students who will shape the future of hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruise destinations, and the global experience economy.

This scholarship is open to both domestic and international students.
You are encouraged to apply if you:
• Are enrolled full-time in the Chaplin School
• Are a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student
• Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Have financial need
• Are committed to a career in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, events, cruise, or hospitality real estate
• U.S. citizens, permanent residents and international students on an aid eligible visa may apply.

This scholarship is especially interested in students who see themselves working in or influencing the spaces where hospitality happens including hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruise terminals, entertainment districts, and mixed-use developments.

In 500 words or less, answer this question:

2. Resume
Include education, work experience, internships, student organizations, and any relevant hospitality involvement.
3. Financial Need Statement
• Domestic students: FAFSA on file with FIU – Recipients who have completed a FAFSA, may not exceed Cost of Attendance with Federal aid and scholarships.
• International students: A short financial statement (250 words max) explaining tuition, family support, employment limits, and why this scholarship is needed

Scholarship recipients will also be invited to participate in a special alumni connection experience with the donor, creating opportunities for networking, mentorship, and insight into hospitality real estate careers.
