Fostering the Future Scholarship

The Fostering the Future Scholarship at FIU will empower former foster youth to pursue higher education and build a successful future.Each recipient is eligible to receive a scholarship to provide for any costs of tuition, fees, or books not provided by any other support the student might receive from any other funding source*.

To be considered, applicants must:
1. Be a former foster child from any state. Written documentation is required to verify foster status.
2. Be enrolled full-time at FIU in an undergraduate degree seeking major and maintain good academic standing.
3. Preference will be given to students majoring in Computer Science or technology-related fields.
4. Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale to remain eligible for continued funding (up to 9 semesters).
5. Understand that if you become ineligible, award will be forfeited.

*This scholarship cannot be combined with any other waiver/scholarship that covers tuition and fees only.
