Sharon & Seymour Placide Scholarship
Are you very interested in participating in an Honors College Study Abroad Program? The Honors College is committed to funding a select number of students to assist with Study Abroad costs. Sharon and Seymour Placide Study Abroad Scholarship will financially assist/subsidize the costs associated for the Honors College Spain Study Abroad program to support qualified Honors College students. This scholarship is only for Honors College students accepted to the Honors College faculty-led study abroad program in Spain for Spring & Summer 2026. Students participating in other faculty-led study abroad programs, international exchange, or third-party programs are NOT eligible for this scholarship.
This competitive scholarship will award ten (10) scholarships in the amount of up to $500 each to cover travel expenses for your Spring & Summer 2026 Honors Spain faculty-led study abroad program. Awarded in Summer 2026.
Applicants for this scholarship must meet the eligibility criteria, as follows:
• Current Honors College student in good standing (min. 3.3 GPA);
• Essay/personal statement (2-page, double-spaced) stating the program you would like to attend, why you wish to participate in the Honors Spain Study Abroad program, and why you should be selected as a recipient of the scholarship.
• Must be eligible to participate in the Study Abroad program
• Must be part of the Honors College Spain Study Abroad program
• Must be a U.S Citizen, Permanent Resident or International student on an F1 visa.
• Students must Fulfill annual Honors College engagement and service requirements.
