Ricardo Perez-Dulzaides Scholarship Research Conference

The Ricardo Perez-Dulzaides Scholarship Research Conference is open to students that meet the below guidelines:

• Open to Honors College students. All recipients must maintain good academic standing in the Honors College.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
• To receive scholarship aid at FIU students must be a citizen of the United States, a U.S. lawful granted permanent resident, an international student with an F-1/J-1visa
• If the awarded student drops out of good standing, or drops out of the Honors College, they will be held financially liable for returning scholarship funds, and the cost of the scholarship will be added to their financial aid account.
• Acceptance of this scholarship can affect your financial aid due to cost of attendance if a student completed a FAFSA. The student will be held responsible for obtaining information from the Office of Financial Aid regarding how this scholarship can affect aid. The Honors College is not liable for any loss of financial aid due to the awarding of this scholarship.
• The Honors College Scholarship Advisor must approve all selected students to determine final eligibility.

1.PROPOSALS WILL BE EVALUATED BASED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
Significance: Does research conference participation help you with the development of your research, professional growth, or professional connections? How will the research conference enhance your scientific knowledge, technical capability, or research practice? Will you participate in conference workshops, social gatherings, presentations, etc. Can you share the conference agenda and highlight which sessions that will give you the opportunity for professional growth, mentorship, and connections?
Innovation: Do you expect participation will expose you to innovative ideas or persons conducting innovative research that might advance your knowledge and practice of your field?
Approach: Explain how your participation in the conference advances your future academic and professional plans? What impact will it have on your work at Florida International University? Can you share the conference agenda and highlight which sessions that will give you the opportunity for professional growth, mentorship, and connections?
*Overall Impact: *Average of the above three
EXPECTED OUTCOMES:
Describe the expected outcomes of the project. If the results of your project are positive, i.e., the goals are met and the hypothesis is proven, what impact will this have on society. What do you hope to achieve and what do you hope to do with the results of the project (e.g., publication, exhibition, presentation)?

2.BUDGET:
Each grant submission must include an itemized list of the total funding necessary to complete the project. Attach a brief budget justification explaining each item in your budget, indicate why the items are necessary for the completion of the project, and indicate if any budget items will be supported from another source (e.g., your college, department, faculty grant, or personal funds).Please complete the form by listing the itemized projected expenses for your research project.
