Golden Scholars Bridge Program

Application only open to current high school seniors
The Golden Scholars Bridge program is an admissions pathway program for under-represented students. Priority is given to first-generation students and City of Miami high school seniors however, all high school seniors are welcome to apply. Students selected to be Golden Scholars will participate in an intensive six-week residential summer bridge program that offers academic preparation, individualized advising, and personal attention from faculty and staff. Upon successful completion of the bridge program, students will participate in the program for all semesters they are enrolled at FIU.

GOLDEN SCHOLARS REQUIREMENTS

  • To qualify as a candidate for the Golden Scholars bridge program, applicants must be:
  • Under-represented college students (priority given to Pell Grant-eligible first-generation college students)
  • Florida residents (per state residency guidelines)
  • Pell Grant eligible as determined by the federal FAFSA application

To apply to the Golden Scholars bridge program, students must:

  • Submit an essay and resume as part of the General Application on AcademicWorks.
  • Submit a complete FIU Undergraduate Admission application and the Golden Scholars Bridge program application.
  • Answer the nine yes/no questions on the Golden Scholars bridge program application on AcademicWorks
  • Submit ACT and SAT scores to the Office of Undergraduate Admission.

NOTE: Complete both the 2024-25 and 2025-26 FAFSA. Complete the 2025-26 FAFSA application as soon as it opens in December.
NOTE: Students are encouraged to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool on the FAFSA website.
Complete the Florida Residency Affidavit Form with the required documentation through your my.fiu.edu portal.
