The Pallas Foundation Admiral Mike Mullen Scholarship

The Pallas Foundation Admiral Mike Mullen Scholarship for National Security Leadership:

Eligibility criteria for the scholarship are as follows:
i. The scholarship will be awarded to full-time students enrolled in the Undergraduate Certificate in National Security Studies managed by the Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy.
ii. Preference will be given to applicants with a GPA of 3.0. Scholarship recipients are required to maintain a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher in order to remain eligible for scholarship funds for the following semester. Failure to meet this academic requirement may result in the suspension or termination of scholarship funds.
iii. Preference will be given to students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
iv. Students must submit a 500-word essay describing the importance of diversity within the study of national security and how diversity helps to ensure the security of the nation.

Fund will be used to support 2 student scholarships at $8,000 each for the academic year of 2024-2025. The scholarship will be awarded $4,000 for the Fall 2024 semester and $4,000 for the Spring 2025 semester.

Recipient Letter Clause: Each scholarship recipient must submit a letter detailing the positive impact the scholarship has had on their education and future career aspirations. The deadline for submission of the letter is by the end of the first semester in which the scholarship was awarded. Failure to submit the thank you letter by the specified deadline may result in the non-renewal of the scholarship for the following semester.

Recipients who have completed a FAFSA, may not exceed Cost of Attendance with Federal aid and scholarships Students must be aid eligible for FIU based awards. For questions or concerns, email scholarships@fiu.edu.
