First Generation Honors College Scholarship
The First Generation Honors College Scholarship is open to all eligible Honors College students; both current and new. Students must be either an entering or current Honors College student in good standing (minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA) with demonstrated need. The student must have a history of outstanding academic performance, and provide evidence of motivation, character, and potential in their personal statements. The student must also be a Florida resident who has completed their FAFSA; must be a citizen of the United States, a U.S. lawful permanent resident. The award funding varies and if funding permits that year.
Students must show in their FAFSA proof of first generation status. A first generation student is one whose parents (both) did not complete a baccalaureate degree in accordance to Florida statutes. First generation applicants must also be pell eligible to receive this award.

Remember, this is often the best opportunity you have to speak directly to the scholarship review committee! Please check spelling and grammar carefully before submitting your essay. We recommend you compose the statement in a different word processing program and then paste it into this box. Must be a minimum of 1,000 words.
