Gannett Foundation & National Association for Hispanic Journalists Scholarship
Gannett Foundation & National Association for Hispanic Journalists Scholarship (NAHJ members only). The Gannett Foundation & National Association for Hispanic Journalists Scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking students in the Lee Caplin School of Journalism & Media.
This scholarship is offering up to $2,500.
For consideration, the applicant must meet the following minimum requirements:
• a current member of the National Association for Hispanic Journalists.
• a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing any major in the Lee Caplin School of Journalism & Media during the award period.
• Must be enrolled full time (12 credits-undergraduate and 9 credits graduate) during the award period (fall and spring semesters).
• submit a 2-page typewritten (double-spaced) essay about your career goals, reasons for choosing the profession, and where you would like to work in the future.
• submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member (LCSJM faculty preferred).
Students must be US citizens, permanent residents or International students with an F1 visa to be eligible

- Please submit an essay which discusses the reasons for your chosen profession; and where you see yourself in the future? Must be a minimum of 2 pages, double spaced.
- All applicants must submit a writing sample (school newspaper story, class paper or equivalent).
- Please submit scans of all transcripts from institutions in which you have taken courses, including FIU (official or unofficial from school's web page).
- Please submit a copy of current Panther Degree Audit (PDA for FIU students). All documents should be submitted as PDF.
- Please submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member (faculty preferred).
