Siggi B. Wilzig Communication and Journalism Scholarship

Donor Ivan Wilzig created The Siggi B. Wilzig Scholarship:

For consideration, the applicant must meet the following minimum requirements:
• Enrolled in or accepted for admission to the College of Communication, Architecture and the Arts (CARTA)
• Preference given to students who submit an essay on how the book Unstoppable, the biography about the life, struggles, and ultimate success of Nazi holocaust servivor, Siggi B. Wilzig, changed their view of antisemitism and how to overcome it
• Submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member (Lee Caplin School of Journalism & Media or School of Communication faculty preferred).

  • Submit a 2-page typewritten (double-spaced) essay explaining how the book Unstoppable, the biography about the life, struggles, and ultimate success of Nazi holocaust survivor, Siggi B. Wilzig changed your view of antisemitism and how to overcome it. Students may request a copy of the book at https://webforms.fiu.edu/view.php?id=3762638
    • Submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member (Lee Caplin School of Journalism & Media or School of Communication faculty preferred).

Award amount: Up to $5,000; award amounts vary
Student must be a US Citizen, Permanent resident or International student on an F1 visa to be eligible.
