Generations Ahead Scholarship Faculty/Staff

The Division of Human Resources is pleased to inform you of enhancements to our “Generations Ahead” Scholarship Program – generously sponsored by Gabor Financial Solutions. This scholarship is designed for FIU’s benefits-eligible faculty and staff who are also enrolled as full-time students at FIU.

This opportunity is another way to demonstrate appreciation for you, our valued faculty and staff, who support and serve our 56,000 students. As a result of your continued commitment to create positive experiences for our students, the Division of Human Resources is dedicated to creating positive experiences and opportunities for you.

Eligible faculty and staff scholarship recipients must:
A. be a full-time, benefits-eligible employee.
B. be currently enrolled as a degree-seeking, full-time student at FIU, taking a minimum of 12 credits as an undergraduate or 9 credits as a graduate student.
C. have already completed a semester of classes within the last 12 months.
D. have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 or better as an undergraduate or 3.0 as a graduate student.
E. be employed for a minimum of one year, at FIU, in a benefits-eligible position.

Generations Ahead Scholarship applicants are expected to:

  • Submit a 500 word essay. “Describe something that has inspired you in the past year to make a difference in your community and how it relates to your academic pursuits."
  • Submit a second 500 word essay depicting why this scholarship is important to you, financially, and how it will help you obtain your degree.
  • Provide two (2) letters of recommendation; one from a faculty member and one from an administrator.

Awarded for Spring 2023.

Submission of an application does not guarantee an award. Recipients who have completed a FAFSA, may not exceed Cost of Attendance with Federal aid and scholarships.
