Nova Star Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant

The Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Juneteenth Celebration Committee would like to invite you to what promises to be a monumental and exciting event for our FIU community. We would like to invite you to spread the word about our inaugural Juneteenth Nova Star Scholarship Pageant for the following titles:

  • NOVA STAR AMBASSADOR – $2000.00
  • AMBASSADOR OF JUSTICE – $1500.00
  • AMBASSADOR OF UNITY – $1000.00

This pageant is a way for us to honor Juneteenth and highlight and foster the inextricable connection between African American Culture, social justice, and academic success and achievement. The pageant is inspired by the cloud burst, known as a nova, outside of the star on the Juneteenth Flag (the Lone Star State), this symbol represents the new beginnings of African Americans in Galveston, TX, and beyond. This pageant is open to all students of racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and gender backgrounds.

This program is scheduled to be June 11, 2022, at 6:30PM – 9:00PM at the FIU Biscayne Bay Campus at 3013 NE 151street North Miami, FL 33181.
