George & Bernice Cooke Scholarship for Military and Veteran Students

The George & Bernice Cooke Scholarship is available to all Veterans, active duty, reservists, and National Guard members enrolled at FIU. This scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in or accepted for admission to the University.

Eligibility Requirements
• Recipients must be degree-seeking Veterans, active duty, reservists, and National Guard members enrolled at FIU enrolled for a minimum of three credit hours per semester.
• Recipients must demonstrate financial need by completing the national Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
• Recipients must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
• Recipients must be US citizens or permanent residents.
• Recipients may renew the award contingent upon eligibility and submission of applications in Spring and Fall semester

Preference will be given to:
• Nontraditional students (i.e., students with delayed enrollment into higher education; part-time students; students that work full-time; students with dependents other than a spouse; students who are single parents, etc.).
• Students with a demonstrated interest in women’s issues as determined by the applicant’s personal statement
