Christine Matthews Dalton, MD Memorial Scholarship

The Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) Scholarship Program is pleased to offer the Dr. Christine Matthews Dalton Scholarship.Dr. Christine Matthews Dalton graduated from the FIU HWCOM in the inaugural Class of 2013, on her way to accomplishing her dream of becoming a family medicine physician. Christine did not get the opportunity to fulfill that dream as she passed away on November 13, 2014,at the age of 28. A memorial scholarship was created to honor Dr. Dalton’s legacy and to share what an amazing student, alumna, doctor, wife, daughter, friend, and colleague she was. The purpose of this generous scholarship award is to assist a fourth year HWCOM medical student with the same dream of becoming a family physician. The student must embody the principles of family medicine which include compassion, resilience, perseverance, and integrity.

Eligibility:

• Applicants must be a fourth year medical student.
• Applicants must have Family Medicine as their primary field of choice.
